Italy has an excellent network of roads and highways that is one of the most extensive in Europe. The motorways (autostrade) run the length and breadth of the peninsula and most have pay tolls, so always carry small change with you.

Included in your Europcar rental:
1. Unlimited mileage.
2. Collision Damage Insurance Cover. In the event of an accident this insurance covers the full value of the vehicle. However you remain liable for the excess amount of 850 Euros (Group A, B, C & D) and 1,300 Euros (Group E & F). Please note that this insurance does not cover damage to the vehicle’s tyres, undercarriage or windscreen.
3. Theft Insurance Cover. In the event that the rented vehicle is stolen this insurance covers the full value of the car. However you remain liable for the excess amount of 1,600 Euros (Group A, B & C) and 2,600 Euros (Group D, E & F).
4. All local taxes and airport surcharges.
5. Third Party Liability Insurance. This covers any third party in the event of an accident.
Notes:
1. Cars will be supplied with a full tank of petrol and clients will be required to leave a minimum deposit of 500 Euros per rental (depending on the size of the vehicle). A credit card imprint will be taken to cover local extras or any excess charges in case of an accident. This deposit will be refunded when the car is returned, with a full tank of petrol. Any missing fuel (more than 5 litres) on the return of the vehicle will incur an additional service charge of 21.60 Euros plus the cost of the missing fuel, payable locally. Please note that the credit card needs to be in the name of the designated driver. Europcar offers the possibility to buy a full tank of fuel at check out time in order not to pay for the refueling charge. No refund is due in case the vehicle is returned with some fuel.
2. Each additional driver will be charged locally at a rate of 7.20 Euros per day (maximum charge 20 days of rental 144.00 Euros).
3. A valid, full UK, EU or international driving licence, issued not less than one year prior to rental is required.
4. Driving is on the Right.
5. Minimum age is 18yrs (Group A & B) and 21-24yrs (Group C, D, E & F). No maximum age limit. Drivers aged 18yrs are charged a supplement of 21.60 Euros per day and 19-24yrs are charged 14.40 Euros per day.
6. One-way supplement of £40 applies to above car hire rates if pick-up/drop-off is not from the same pick-up point.
7. Infant/Baby seats on request and payable locally at 43.80 Euros per rental. Note: Infant/Baby and booster seats for children up to 12yrs are now compulsory with all car rentals in Italy and Sicily.
8. We can request, but not guarantee a particular make of car or engine size.
9. We are not liable for any police or traffic fines incurred by clients.
10. A minimum charge of between 21.60 Euros each way applies for delivery and collection within city limits. This charge is payable locally. Charges outside city limits are on request.
11. These conditions also apply to car hire already included in the cost of our holiday. All local charges quoted here include VAT (20%).
12. Our insurance does not cover any personal belongings stolen while left unattended in a hire car, unless in a locked and covered compartment (valuables are not covered).
13. Airports are open 365 days a year. Airport office hours vary, but generally the major airports open between 0800-2200hrs. After-hours airport charge is 30.00 Euros payable locally.
14. GPS (Navigation System) equipment is available on request at a cost of 12.00 Euros per day (maximum amount payable is 240 Euros per month). This equipment is only available from the airport and must be returned to the same airport collected from - not available for one-way rentals.
15. Please advise us, at the time of booking, of any ENDORSEMENTS ON YOUR LICENCE.
Not included (payable locally):
1. Super Collision Damage Waiver Insurance (SCDW). This is an extra charge, which if paid, will void any excess payable, in the event of an accident. The price of the Super CDW is 15.60 Euros per day (Group A & B) and 16.80 Euros (all other groups).
2. Super Theft Waiver Insurance (STW). This is an extra charge, which if paid, will dramatically reduce or void any excess payable, in the event that the hire vehicle is stolen. The price of the Super Waiver Insurance is 12.00 Euros (Group A & B) and 14.40 Euros (all other groups).
3. Super Loss Waiver Insurance (SLDW). This is an extra charge, which if paid, will dramatically reduce or void any excess payable, in the event of an accident or if the hire vehicle is stolen. The price of the Super Loss Waiver Insurance is 24 Euros (Group A & B ) and 28.80 Euros (all other groups).
4. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI). This insurance will cover the cost of any personal medical costs incurred in the event of an accident. This insurance is optional and payable locally at 12.00 Euros per day. Please note that Sunvil travel insurance provides limited personal insurance and covers medical costs. If you have not purchased Sunvil travel insurance, please check with your insurance company prior to departure to see if you will be covered.
5. Global Vehicle Cover. This insurance will cover any charges payable in the event that the roof, chassis, tyres or windscreen are damaged or stolen. The price of the Global Vehicle Cover is 4.20 Euros per day.
N.B: Please note that you do not have to purchase any of the above. Should you decide to do so, these will be noted on your rental agreement and be payable by the client locally.
