Where in Norway

Norway is largely unexplored by UK visitors, so if you’re unsure where to start, please read our brief descriptions of each area to help you decide where to go:

Bergen and the Fjords

Think of Norway and images of blue waterways, snow capped mountains and a lush green landscape come to mind. These images are reality in the Fjord region of Norway. A varied and fascinating region!

Oslo

Considered to be one of the world’s greenest and most liveable cities, Oslo is bordered by the Oslofjord to the south, forests and hills to the north and has a large open-parkland at its heart. Few other cities in the world can offer such a varied and green landscape, covering more than two thirds of the city.

The Lofoten Islands

The Lofoten archipelago is located 115km north of the Arctic Circle and 100km to the west of Bodø (on the Norwegian mainland). Renowned for its exceptional natural beauty the archipelago is a pleasure to visit at anytime of year.

Hurtigruten Coastal Express

The Hurtigruten Coastal Express has been breathing life into Norway’s remote coastal villages for over a century providing a vital transportation link for local residents, mail and supplies. Today, the vessels are also used to transport visitors along the beautiful, North Sea coastline from Bergen across the Arctic Circle to Kirkenes on the Russian border.
